Farewell My Concubine is one of my favourite movies ever.
That is indeed a fantastic movie, thanks for sharing - I've not heard of/ or seen several of those.
Tampopo should be on that list.
I've never heard of it. Who's in it, what country is it from. I shall look for it immediately.
It's Japanese and directed by the late Juzo Itami and stars Tsutomu Yamazaki, Nobuko Miyamoto and Koji Yakusho whom you might remember from Shall We Dance? It's definitely one of the funniest, heartfelt, beautiful, creative, extremely bizarre and unconventional romantic comedies I've ever seen. Basically they take the traditional samurai master/apprentice formula, modernize it (circa late 80's/early 90's), and make it about food--although this tiny description does the movie extremely little justice since it's about so much more, but I highly recommend it from seeing your list above.
sweet, thanks
